Briana, May 2026
OlΓ‘, Briana! π
Thank you for applying for CC Coaching and for the conversation last week. It was a pleasure to meet you, and we have been thinking about your situation carefully since then.
Below you'll find two coaching plans we put together specifically for you, along with a third option for learners who prefer a more self-directed path. Take your time reading through everything, and let us know if you have any questions.
Aquele abraço,
Alexia
(+ Foster & Buddy πΆ)
What we noticed
You are not really a beginner in the way that word usually gets used. You are a fluent Spanish speaker with strong grammar instincts, a good ear, and a clear reason to learn. You already understand about 80% of what you hear in real conversations. The gap is not knowledge. It is activation.
Two things are in the way right now. First, Portuguese has not yet built its own lane in your brain separate from Spanish. Your mind is routing through Spanish to get to Portuguese, which adds a step that makes spontaneous speech feel slow. Second, you overthink. You named it yourself. You know the right answer and it doesn't come out as quickly as you want it to.
These are both very solvable problems. Neither of them is about vocabulary.
What we would focus on with you
Getting what you already know out of your head and into your mouth. You have more Portuguese than your active speaking shows. We would start with structured speaking from day one.
Building Portuguese its own lane. Foster learned Portuguese after Spanish, so he knows exactly where Spanish helps and where it quietly creates interference. We would work that directly, not pretend Spanish isn't there.
Pronunciation foundation. You want a neutral accent, and we agree that is the right approach. What we care about most is correct pronunciation of Brazilian sounds. Alexia will be your ear for this throughout.
Training your mouth for Brazilian Portuguese. This is where the real progress happens, and it is what makes CC Coaching different from self-study or a standard language class.
CC Coaching: what is included
Every coaching plan includes the following:
Private 1:1 sessions with Alexia or Foster
One session per week is the recommended rhythm. We build in flexibility for life, travel, or weeks when either of us needs to reschedule. The program moves at a pace that works for both of us.
A private WhatsApp group with both of us
This is not a chat channel for announcements. It is direct access to Alexia and Foster throughout your entire program. Between sessions, you send us short voice messages on specific topics. We send back voice messages with corrections, specific sounds to practice, and honest feedback on what we hear. This ongoing audio loop is the most important tool in the program. It is how your mouth learns to think in Portuguese rather than route through Spanish first. For someone whose gap is activation, not knowledge, this is where the gap actually closes.
A personalized curriculum built around your goals
Not a course we hand you. A program designed for your specific level, your gaps, and the conversations you are actually trying to have: the friends at church, the Brazilians at the coffee shop, the group visiting at the end of the year.
Personalized homework
Small, manageable, and tied to your real life. Built to build habits, not burn you out.
Full CC Club access for the duration of your program
400+ podcast episodes, full transcripts, worksheets, the Fundamentals course, Adventures with Alexia, and our weekly live group classes. This is a $360/year membership, included at no extra cost while you are coaching with us. CC Club access is included for the duration of your coaching program only.
Your two coaching options
Option A | Option B | |
Sessions | 6 private sessions | 10 private sessions |
Investment | $600 | $900 |
Includes | Everything above | Everything above + save $100 vs. full rate |
Our recommendation for you is Option B.
Your goal is real and your timeline is specific. A group of 30 people from your church visiting in a year is something to actually build toward. Ten sessions gives us enough time to not just get you started, but to build the foundation that carries you through the rest of the year.
That said, Option A is a real program, not a lesser one. If the investment is the deciding factor right now, six sessions is enough to build a clear foundation, understand exactly what to work on, and know what to do next.
Payment for either option can be split into two installments.

A note about CC Club
CC Club is our full self-study membership and it is the right fit for learners who are genuinely self-motivated and comfortable building their own structure. At $360 per year, you get access to everything we have built over ten years of teaching Brazilian Portuguese: the full episode library, transcripts, worksheets, the Fundamentals course, and our weekly live group classes with Alexia.
The honest difference between CC Club and coaching is this: coaching is built entirely around you. Alexia and Foster both know your voice, your specific gaps, and what you are working toward. CC Club gives you the resources. Coaching gives you the direction, the accountability, and two people in your corner every step of the way.
One more thing worth knowing: most of our coaching students choose to continue as CC Club members after their program ends. The coaching gives them the foundation and the roadmap. The CC Club is where they keep building. The ideal path for someone in your situation is to start with coaching, get a clear plan for the year, and continue with CC Club once the program is done. CC Club access is included for the duration of your coaching program only.
Once coaching ends, continuing as a member is $360/year β and in our experience, most students are glad they did.
If CC Club on its own feels like the right starting point, we think that is a good choice for the right kind of learner, and you can always come back to coaching later.
What we would ask of you
- Study for roughly 30 minutes daily, in addition to your weekly sessions
- Show up to every class (with exceptions, of course)
- Complete personalized homework assignments
Consistency is what makes coaching work. Our job is to design the right program and stay with you throughout it. Your job is to show up and have fun speaking Brazilian Portuguese! π§π·
