Yep, Carioca Connection turned 8 years old this week, catching us totally by surprise.
8 years ago we huddled around a cheap microphone in an AirBnb in Rio de Janeiro and recorded the first episode of Carioca Connection.
We started Carioca Connection to share our journey through language, culture & conversations. We recorded 40 conversations and honestly thought that would be it…
300+ episodes later, we’re still having conversations to explore Brazilian Portuguese, dive into Brazil’s culture, and most importantly, connect with listeners like you from around the world.
Here's how Alexia remembers it:
Há 8 anos atrás o Foster virou pra mim e perguntou “você quer gravar um podcast comigo?” E a minha resposta foi “o que é um podcast?”. E assim começou o Carioca Connection!
Eu jamais pensei que o nosso podcast poderia atingir tantas pessoas pelo mundo que se conectaram com o Brasil e com o Português.
É realmente incrível quando eu paro para pensar que já fazem 8 anos que nós começamos a falar em português com dois microfones na nossa frente e hoje em dia temos uma comunidade maravilhosa que você faz parte dela.
O Carioca Connection começou como um podcast e hoje em dia é uma comunidade voltada às pessoas que querem continuar conectadas com a cultura e com a língua de alguma forma. E nós queremos continuar trabalhando para isso!
