Naima Private Classes, July 2026
Olá, Naima! 👋
Thank you for such a fun conversation, and for doing the whole thing in Portuguese. That already told us a lot. It was a real pleasure getting to know you, and I have been thinking about your situation since the call.
Below you'll find two options for private classes with me, along with a third option for learners who prefer a more self-directed path. Take your time reading through everything, and let us know if you have any questions.
Aquele abraço,
Alexia

What we noticed
You called yourself intermediate, someone who can get by but hits walls constantly. Here is what I actually saw on the call: someone who held a full conversation in Portuguese for twenty minutes, understood everything, and kept going every time she hit one of those walls. That is not "getting by." You speak Portuguese nearly fluently already. What is missing is not the language. It is a few specific pieces of it.
You described it perfectly yourself. In your head there is a child who can speak fast, more or less correct Portuguese, and an adult who does not have the vocabulary to keep up. That is exactly what happens when you grow up with a language and then live away from it. The foundation is real, it is yours, and nobody can take it from you. What is missing is everything the child never needed: the adult vocabulary, the precision, the words for a hangover, a doctor's visit, a night out in São Paulo.
This is the best possible starting point. You do not need lessons that build Portuguese from zero. You need regular conversation with someone who corrects you in the moment, so the Portuguese you already have grows into the language of the adult you are now. And you have a real deadline to work toward: Brazil, in December, for Christmas.
What we would work on together
Real conversation, real correction. You told me exactly what you need: a set time to sit in front of the computer, speak only Portuguese, and have someone catch the errors as they happen. No English escape hatch. That is exactly what our classes are.
Slowing down and tightening up. Speaking a little slower, with the gender agreement and verb forms landing correctly. Not grammar drills. Just working on the specific patterns that trip you up, inside conversation, until they stop needing your attention.
Adult vocabulary. The words the child never learned. Everyday life, health, plans, opinions, nightlife, music. You did not know "ressaca" before our call. By December you will have a whole layer of vocabulary like that.
Your voice on WhatsApp. You want your voice messages to sound better: slower, cleaner, more you. Between classes you send me voice notes in Portuguese, and I send back corrections and better phrasings, so your spoken Portuguese improves between classes, not just during them.
December, your grandparents, and the six-month dream. This is the thread that ties it all together. Deeper conversations with your avós in São Paulo, who only have Portuguese to share with you. A Christmas trip where you are out in the city meeting people, not just staying in with family. And one day, those six months living there. Every class builds toward that.
Private classes with Alexia: what is included
Every plan includes the following:
Private 1:1 classes with Alexia
One class per week is the rhythm I recommend for you, especially with December on the calendar. We build in flexibility for life, travel, and busy weeks, and since we are in the same time zone, scheduling is easy.
A private WhatsApp group
Direct access to me between classes. This is where you send your voice messages and I send back corrections, better phrasings, and models to imitate. You ask questions the moment something does not click. For someone who specifically wants her WhatsApp Portuguese to improve, this is where a lot of the progress happens.
Classes built around you
Not a curriculum we hand you. Conversation shaped around your level, your gaps, and your actual life: your grandparents, your dad, your music, and a December trip I want you walking into with confidence.
Full CC Club access for the duration of your program
400+ podcast episodes, full transcripts, worksheets, the Fundamentals course, and our weekly live group classes. This is a $360/year membership, included at no extra cost while we are working together. CC Club access is included for the duration of your program only.
Your two options
Option A | Option B | |
Private 1:1 classes with Alexia | 8 classes | 12 classes |
Private WhatsApp group | ✓ | ✓ |
Personalized audio feedback on your voice messages | ✓ | ✓ |
Classes built around your goals | ✓ | ✓ |
Full CC Club access during your program | ✓ | ✓ |
Investment | $400 | $550 (save $50 vs. full rate) |
My recommendation for you is Option B.
Here is the math that matters: twelve weekly classes starting now takes you right up to your trip. That means you land in São Paulo in December at the end of a full run of corrected conversation, cleaner voice messages, and a real adult vocabulary behind you. Eight classes builds real momentum. Twelve gets you to your grandparents' table in December as a different speaker than you are today.
That said, Option A is a real program, not a lesser one. If the investment is the deciding factor right now, eight classes is enough to sharpen your precision, know exactly what to practice, and head into December with a clear plan.
Payment for either option can be split into two installments.
(you can change the price on the payment page depending on the plan you want)
A note about CC Club
CC Club is our full self-study membership and it is the right fit for learners who are genuinely self-motivated and comfortable building their own structure. At $360 per year, you get access to everything we have built over ten years of teaching Brazilian Portuguese: the full episode library, transcripts, worksheets, the Fundamentals course, and our weekly live group classes.
The honest difference is this: private classes are built entirely around you. I know your voice, your specific gaps, and what you are working toward, and I correct you in real time. CC Club gives you the resources. Classes give you the conversation, the correction, and someone making sure your Portuguese is actually changing week over week.
You have been listening to the podcast for a while already, so you know what the content feels like. If the timing is not right for private classes, CC Club is a great way to keep the language close until it is. But for a specific goal on a specific timeline, like December in Brazil, private classes are the tool built for the job.
One more thing worth knowing: most of our students choose to continue as CC Club members after their program ends. CC Club access is included for the duration of your program only. Once your classes end, continuing as a member is $360/year, and in our experience, most students are glad they did.
What we would ask of you
- Show up to every class (with exceptions, of course)
- Stay in Portuguese with me, even when English would be easier
- Send voice messages in Portuguese between classes, including to your dad while he is in São Paulo
- Spend a little time with Portuguese daily, even just 20 to 30 minutes
Consistency is what makes this work, and you already showed me on the call that you have it in you: you stayed in Portuguese the whole time, even when it was hard. My job is to shape the classes around you. Your job is to show up and have fun speaking Brazilian Portuguese! 🇧🇷
